SIDDHIRGANJ 2×120MW PEAKING POWER PLANT PROJECT

The construction of Siddhirganj 2×120 MW Peaking Power Plant Project has been started during 2006-2007 at the side of the Shitalakhya river within the Siddhirganj power station premises.

Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Limited signed a contract with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) as EPC contractor for the above project under Asian Development Bank (ADB) fund. 1st Unit was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on 14 February, 2010. Due to the Generator Fault, the 1st Unit was in Shut Down from 18 June, 2010 to 17 September, 2011 and after replacing the generator, the Unit was re-commissioned on 18 September, 2011. The 2nd Unit is under test run since May 26, 2010. The 2nd Unit has been taken over from the EPC contractor on October 14, 2010.

Land Lease Agreement  

Land Lease Agreement was signed between EGCB Ltd. & BPDB on 29 August, 2011 for 4.17 acres of land at Siddhirganj power station area on rental basis for the period of 23 years.

   
Power Purchase Agreement  
A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 2x120 MW Peaking Power Plant at Siddhirganj was signed between EGCB Ltd. and BPDB on 29 August, 2011 for the period of 22 years.
